Anyone know where I can get an OS MAX-S .30 RC ? I have one and converted it to C/L and now need another. I Tried Ebay but all I can find are .35's. My new build has engine mounts, cowling all completed to fit the .30 and then I went and damaged it. 3/32" drill slipped and punched a hole in the casing. Don't think it can be repaired.
Thanks,
Jim

The .30 and .35 are the same except bore.
The heads do not interchange.
I have some new piston/sleeves and some other parts.

Wait a minute! A small hole in the crankcase is easily repaired with JB Weld. Pressures are very small, so it should hold forever, if the part is thoroughly cleaned before the JB Weld.
I could list dozens of similar repairs I've done with JB Weld, and all were successful.

If It is in a place that would let you, the best thing is to tap it with a 4-40 6-32 whatever and screw in a set screw with either RED locktite or JB weld

A local flier JB welded a Johnson .35 combat cylinder back on the crankcase, actually the upper and lower crankcase back together and ran it for years like that.

Yup, I already did this. Cleaned carefully, then cleaned again. Tap for 4-40 screw w/JB Weld. Holds fine and engine runs like it didn't know what happened. I had to surface grind down 4-40 head so I could fit the cowling bolt. Not much space under the engine mounts with the engine in place.
However, Randy, I will use the new one from you and keep my repaired tapped one as a back up or on my next project.

There's an O.S. Max-s .30 R/C Engine, No Muffler on Ebay right now. Search for O.S. Max 30 and you'll find it. Looks pretty nice. Hurry only 2 days left on the sale. I just bought a really nice O.S. Max .35 R/c off Ebay. Great deal. Very little wear ,clean and well taken care of. I have 2 other 35 Max-s's that just keep on running strong.
