LA46 backplate

Well

Down here in the south pacific we don't have a lot of c/l resource

What do you guys do for backplates, just scored a low use engine ( I suspect/can tell that it was crashed busting the top edge off the backplate, it leaks ::)

Best source for a replacement?

FP .35 ,.40 , TT .40, Tower .40 all fit . Swap meets are a great source of parts .

Last weekend I nearly bought a complete RC plane just for the LA .46 ! The engine looked almost new . The backseat of my truck wouldn’t hold anymore “treasure” .

Stunt Hangar member Curtiss Shipp makes batches of CNC'd aluminum alloy backplates for at least the .25LA and .40/.46LA...maybe the .10LA also. Look him up in the membership listings and send him an email? I don't know if Curtiss currently has any in stock, or if he will ship overseas. Randy Smith also has CNC aluminum backplates, maybe made by Curtiss...IDK. But Randy will for sure ship anywhere on planet Earth. 

The plastic backplate may work for awhile, especially if you seal them on with suitable high-temp gasket maker and put flat washers under the screw heads. I'm not a fan of them.  :-[ Steve
