Title: LA 46 Venturi Set-Up
Post by: Peter in Fairfax, VA on May 05, 2019, 09:23:51 AM
So I have this full bodied stunter that fits an O.S. LA 46.  Just bought a used engine off eBay, which should arrive late this week.  It's an R/C.  Plan to sell the carb / remote NVA on eBay, because it would just be clutter for a CL person.  Now I need an NVA / Venturi.

Though I looked at Lee Machine, I liked the offering on eBay from shtterman which includes not only an NVA, but also a 4mm bit to drill the case.  I plan to stuff a rag in the intake, tape closed the exhaust, invert the engine and drill with a vacuum cleaner running below, then flush the engine.

The supplied NVA is from Enya.  Are they any good?  If it doesn't work out, I'll see if I have a SuperTigre, Harry Higley or something better.

I have also used the NVA that Bobby sells and they work a treat for me.

used on:  LA46, 35S, H60 OS, Enya motors, K&B, HB and HP motors.

shtterman also sells a needle valve assembly that does not need drilling on an OS engine. I think he had Enya make some to OS specs for him. A better option of you do not want to drill your engine.
   Type at you later,

I drilled one on a drill press with a vise holding it.  That was my first time.  Worked like a charm for me.  That was on an FP-25.
