Title: K&B 61 needle valve
Post by: Tom Taylor on September 24, 2007, 07:09:44 AM
I need some help with my K&B 61.  I bought this engine with out a needle valve, but with the aluminum venturi.  The problem that I'm having is that I can't find a needle valve long enough add both of the securing nuts to the needle valve end.  I've attached a pic to explain. ???

Tom,

I asked the very same question a couple months ago.  I even contacted MECOA who produces a CL version of the 61.  Unless something has come available in the past 2 months or someone else weighs in with an answer....I'm afraid you will need to mill the sides of to get the needle assembly to fit.  MECOA mills the sides to get their valve to fit properly.  If you need parts, for that 61, MECOA has them.  WWW.MECOA.com .

Thanks Thomas,

I should have done a little investigation before posting.  Looks like some machining work will be needed.

Hi, Tom,
I found a long ST style NVA in my junk box which fits in my K&B 61, don't know the source.  Might contact Randy Smith, he can usually come up with a good solution, better than machining.  Also, I'm told that a Merco NVA will fit in the K&B, but have no hands-on experience. The K&B 61 runs pretty well, I'm impressed!  Hope this helps...

Thanks Bill,

That would be a relief if I don't have to mill the housing.  I'll contact Randy and search around for a Merco.

HI

I was trying to find  the exact diminsion of the case  where the spray bar goes thru
If it is .720 or less  the PA  60  NVA  will fit
If it is up to .750 wide the ENYA 60 NVAs  will fit
I will try to find others

Tom,

I'm not sure if Randy intended to make a post or not.  Maybe he's agreeing that you contact him.  He didnt indicate in my previous post that he has a solution but maybe he does.  Regardless, if you find a suitable solution for your situation please let me know.

Yesterday, I mailed 2 K&B 61's to Clarence Lee to setup for CL.

Thanks for the measurement Leester,  I sent Randy a private message to ask for his help if he had anything available.  I soon as I know something I'll post it.

An ENYA needle valve assembly works perfectly for a K&B 61.  You will not need to machine any of the housing away.  Our moderator, Randy Smith sent me one and it fit perfectly. #^
