Hi guys, I have a chance to get a new never run in the box old K&B 51. Is this a good motor for stunt? Is it worth getting it tuned and stuff? It belongs to a guy that just flew scale. Thanks---LOUIE  ;D ;D

I've search the Mecoa site, ebay even 2 R/C sites and In can't find a K&B 51 anywhere, gotta pic of it?

Thanks guys , I must have heard it wrong. If it is a 61, is it a good stunt engine? I will see all the other goodies he wants to get rid of in a couple of weeks and I'll let ya know. Thanks again.----LOUIE H^^ H^^

If it's a 61 it's based on the old Veco 61 and is a good engine for stunt, mine weighs 13.4 oz with out muffler and if you do a search for it you'll find lots of info. Just remember it's a ringed engine so lots of castor and not to much nitro.

I have a K&B .61 sitting on the bench still in the box. I was told that it was from a run of only 500 made, and they came with no instructions (that's what I was told when I asked about an instruction sheet). Is this the same engine in this post? Are instructions on the mecoa site?

There are two 61's one is based on the Veco 61 and is ringed, the abc is called the Twister 61 and also seems to be baffled, it has gold colored cooling fins and looks to be screwed on. One thing I failed to post if you have the ringed version it uses a dykes ring which can be a real pain to start by hand and realy needs a starter but it does start very easy with a starter. Here's a pic of the ringed version.

There were also about 300 K&B 61s with the conventional head that were ABC construction, these were sold by Brodak in the 2001 timeframe.  They have a nice stunt run if you can deal with the weight.
