Adding to Bretts comment, instead of a 35 fp piston liner you can get the whole engine new in box on ebay for 50-60 bucks. Then you could swap engines back and forth and see what run you like better.
5-6 inches of pitch would be a starting point on the Dixon motor. I have measured blowdown on a different motors done by Tom (FP-25, LA-40, FP-40s) to vary from 11 to 16 degrees blowdown. I'm guessing another example I have has close to stock blowdown because it runs very close to an unmodified engine. The point is don't be afraid to try props down to 4 pitch as Brett suggested, the engine may run fantastic on them.
