Works good unmuffled with a 11 x 5 prop . 'P' stamped head is FAI Pylon High Comp. blows a plug every run, on nitro.  Has same chamber/ squish band ,near, as ST 46 . 11x4 , 11 x 5 , maybe 10 x 6 .

Dont hydraulic it to free the prop. Itll break the wrist pin . Dykes Ring. Irvine 40 ring fits .

It should work ok. They are not the lightest around if memory serves.

John Brodak sold at least one production run of a version of these specifically for control line. I never got one, but there must be guys around that have some experience.

I think the #8011 was a "Series 75" engine, which I took to mean it was produced beginning in 1975.  I run these pretty much exclusively in Quicky Rat racing. The small front end must be understood, as the cross dowel pin cannot handle abuse. (Don't back a stud into the hub until it bottoms out!)

The #4011 was later, but not sure how much later. It has a different front end, but the rest of the parts should swap. It is a pretty robust engine in every way, with the understanding that these are both on ringed engines and you can't just blast off lean runs and expect to have any compression left. It is a Dykes ring, if that helps. Mild steel liner, aluminum piston.

The #4050 was even later, and it had the ABC setup. Guys like these if they can find one. There are a bazillon of the 8011 and 4011 used out there and still good parts support from MECOA.

Hope this helps,

The Divot McSlow

      Hello:

      Thanks for the replies.

The reason that I asked was that a friend of mine was gifted one and he asked me about a use for it.  He only flies Stunt with ST engine thus he has no use for it.  I know that a chap in our club has one mounted in a Nobler and is very happy with it.  It appears to be very powerful and fast! He likes to fly very fast in Stunt.

The engine in question has a Dykes ring and is in great shape.  The new owner is converting it to CL as we speak.  I have always regarded them as very nice engines.  They are about 9+oz. but handle very well.

He only uses fuel that is 25% castor oil, 5% nitro and 5% acetone in his engines.  Not my choice, but difficult to argue with success.

      Stay well,

      Frank

It will be a nice engine if it has a good ring and you don't use it in a profile plane.

The 70 was a bit tweeked up, from the 69 . Had the exhaust rotator pin - holes .
These are ' Bill wisnewski ' type Racing Engines, originally. Pylon & suchlike & aeobatic R/C stuff .
Were one of the gruntier engines in their day .
The ' F ' is used in Don Burkes Grymzph rat racer . the Rear Intake 15s, 29s, & 40s were C/L SPEED engines . Wisnewski was a World Champ . And developed / Used  Schneurle & Pipes, pioneeringly .
Same as the one I had in the Macchi 72 , works good . Unless you open the needle two half turns, To ONE from 1 7/8 turns .
after dusk on a 40 foot pine fenced field . And you have 90 mph, and a   l  o  n  g     r  u  n  , invisable low . AND it flys clockwise .
