Engine Reworkers
« on: April 29, 2007, 10:19:01 PM »
I don't want to sound dumb but who is big art and Jim Greenway ? Is there a list of these guys and others that offer engine work ? A list of them and what they offer and contact info would be of benefit. I look forward to buying my first PA in the next month but wouldn't mind sending some of my blue collar engines out for a little voodoo and mojo.

I was thinking, (again). Maybe my previous post should be moved to the engine section. Hope the moderator (Bill) sees this and can move it.

There are a bunch of guys that tune engines Gordon. I'm sure you'll find them. Besides Big Art And Jim Greenway there are Tom Lay, Lew Woolard and Stuka Stunt. There are others. Here is a link for Big Art -  Arthur Adamisin

Gordon,
I thought Voodoo and Mojo was the name of a law firm.  The one across the street from the accounting firm Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe.

Would you like to mention which blue collar engines?  Some reworkers specialize in certain makes/models.  Others like to work on a wide variety of engines.

If your buying a PA engine from Randy it don't need no Mojo....

The engine re-workers of the past were necessary because you couldn't buy a dedicated CL stunt engine off the shelf.. Today that has changed.. Any of Randy's PAs, Richard's RO Jetts, Brodak's offerings and a few others are good to go right out of the box...

Randy does terrific work, as does Tom lay....I believe that "Big Jim" has ceased doing any rework....Tom Dixon also does some nice stuff, as does Byron Barker....all but Big Art advertise in CLW or SNews....

Thanks for the reply guys. I know that any PA version I get from Randy will be ready to haul right out of the box as will the RO series of engines. The brodaks have run pretty good for me but I think there is room for improvement . Especially on my earlier version. I still have some what I call blue collar engines to use and wouldn't mind giving them a little optimization treatment.  st46 ,st60, mccoy 35, etc. Just would be nice to know who is out there and doing what. Aslo would love to compile a list of engine weights. Thought I saw a list onhere a while back will try a search again.

Kim,

V&M were bought out by another firm: Paine & Neass. They do great Class Action stuff...
