Got a Tower 40, .277 venture, T/Bolt long reach idle bar plug, 11x4 A P C prop2.5 Nitro 11 Castor, 11 Synthetic and the tach reads between 9100-92.5, 7and on 3.5 ounces of fuel it is running 6:45- 7:06, one more thing it is a Randy Smith P A needle assy...
This sure don't seem normal for this engine...
Suggestions???

Yes, but that much longer? Oh, it has a tongue muffler on it also..

This could be a fine run. How does it perform in your model? You are running the equivalent of a small Venturi. I believe a RANDY Needle is same diameter as a Supertigre. Fatter than an OS. I usually run 10 percent nitro oil like yours. Less mileage a wider tune needle. We us a 10.5x4.5 apc. Your prop sounds similar. If you like the run quality your flight time sounds adequate. I run these engines a lot. I prefer a fat 2 stroke that breaks. My best running engines need nearly 5 ounces to do the pattern.

Use 10% nitro Cyclone 11 x 4.5 or 10.5 x 4/5 apc prop , To Flite 11 x 4 N things will work out better
let us know

If it runs OK, I wouldn't worry too much about how much fuel it uses.
If it's not OK, and particularly if it gets too lean/sags during maneuvers, might want to check out how many holes are open in the tongue muffler. I would start with 16-20 1/8" holes and then if that gets too wild, thread some of them for 4-40s and block them up.

I keep hoping that Gil will finally write a useful subject line, but I see that's just not happening. Seems like he's not sure what the objectives of the subject line are? No offense; just had to say it. Pretty Please? D>K Steve

Gil brother...not picky... thread topic and original post I am still not sure what you are asking
BUT after reading other's responses I just assumed I am dumb and should know if or if not 6.45 to 7.06 is a good stunt pattern time for a Brodak 40 on an unknown air plane
Not trying to bust your chops Gil...but I AM dense and need help some days to understand what I am reading and trying to learn from........ I am ok with letting YOU ask the question I am too timid to

I see a meaningless subject line as being inconsiderate. Why do you continue to be so? H^^ Steve
