Title: Has a synthetic oil cleaned your engine?

     Hello All
   
     Has anybody noticed that by switching to a fuel that has a large amount of synthetic oil in the mix that the internal parts of the engine had been cleaned of carbon and other undesirable deposits?  If so, what oil removed the deposits?

Not control line, but in my Aurora (Classic RC pattern ship) with an OS .61RF on a pipe. I switched to fuel with 20% Klotz original techniplate. It had been run on castor by the previous owner. Lots of dark brown guff out the pipe for the first few flights. Now it's just a honey couloir so I guess it got a good clean out.

I run my Stalker .51 on fuel with 22% Klotz original techniplate. After 100+ runs it's still squeaky clean.

I'm a big fan of the Klotz oils, castor or synthetic they're both really good.

 with our team race diesels we normally use 10% caster in our fuel  .we have to clean the piston and liner  about every 300 laps

this year at the team trials i used 8% caster  ,2% caster 927, and 2 % automotive caster Edge seaSAE 5w-30US , it stayed so clean that it was hard to start with out a big prop each time it cooled off . the piston was spotless.  went back to all caster , the piston got dark and cold starting became easier .had to go back to cleaning the piston every 300 laps

Hey Bob,
             why would a dark piston be any easier to cold start?
I was under the assumption that cleaning it off was more to do with run conditions.

Used some fuel ' suitable for all OS engines , rewally cleaned them up . even with castor thrown in .

A few flights And was close to death on OS 35S es . Definately Delacquered them . V close to ' picking up '

Id only use say 3 % Syn . in old Iron / steel suckers , on 20 % castor .

Ringed Dual Ball race will take it ( Syn . )

Took a bit of running ( on castor ) for Cranks to ' come right ' too . felt funny / Dry .
