I like the Perfect tanks, but I would never use one without popping the back off and re plumbing it to my specifications. the quality control of where the tubes go inside is not the highest, and the tubes are brass which can rot away on you. I get the back off by setting the tank on a stove burner and using two pairs of pliers to separate the back from the rest when it is hot enough. Usually put the back on in reverse fashion.

but will the tank work with the supply coming out the top?
thanks

Liquid always seeks its own level. It is not important where it comes out, what is important it where the pickup is.
