fuel for tiger G 21 35
« on: February 03, 2018, 08:17:18 PM »

Should I use all castor fuel in  G 21 35 tiger combat engine ?  I don't know how much run time the engine has on it and I don't want to burn it up, also what size prop would be a good one to run on it? Wooden or composite?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated  also....

23 % , these days . olde times it was 20 % and burn them up eventually . All C or 3 % syn , to delacquer as you go .

These Lapped Supertigres you get a shiny narrow band around the piston  , just down from the top .

if theyre any good , about 1 mm deep after a few hours use , going to maybe 2 mm .
if it goes half way down the piston try 60 % N or give up , as its ro%#ted .

3:1 fuel for running in , or 30 % initially , then 25 % for a while . Patiance and youd gettem really good .

The 29s ran 8X8 Bartels for T/R , the .35s for combat maybe 9 x 7s  , mine with its small veturie 4 stroked nicely on a 9 x 6 3Bl in a stunter, unmuffled .

I use an APC 9x7 with shaft hole opened with a metric reamer and balanced. The engine likes to run FAST! For a combat wing an 8x8 prop is my choice.
Brodak's 15% fuel works well and I add one ounce of Klotz per gallon. Years ago I used Fox 40/40/20 fuel for a while it was overkill, The Fox Missile Mist at 25% was a better choice back then.

I think we used 20% synthetic oil back in the day.  Then the Cleveland guys put me onto Greasy Kid Stuff: modified soybean oil.  15% of that was enough.  Castor should be OK, too.  Don't exceed 30% nitro with the stock bearing.

The best prop, believe it or not, is a Y&O 8-8.

Hi  we used  22% oil 1/2 synthetic, Nitro 10 - 25%  and  a lot of wood 8 x 7   8x 8   and  9x 7 props, the Best prop I ever found for it was a Bolly glass 8 x 7.5 N
Howard suggested  8 x 8  Y&O   Brodak  has them in stock,  so they would be worth a try
