What is a good fuel to use in LA 40 and Brodak 40

I have had good luck with Powermaster 10/22 1/2 castor, or SIG 10% 1/2 castor
They both run well on either...

Hobby store here sells power master but has synthetic in it.  That ok or should you use castor.  They also have Sig not sure what is in that

Sig Champion 1/2-1/2 castor/synthetic, nitro 5-15% per your engine, plane, altutude conditions.
I use the 15% nitro as I fly at 5K' altitude but 10% is acceptable, if thats all I can get at the time of purchase.
Also I also boost castor up 2-4% if engines are not behaving  like they normally do.
Powermaster is good stuff, if you can get 1/2-1/2 castor/synthetic blend locally.
!0% nitro should be right at your location but if you go to a flying site a more than a couple thousand ft. altitude, bring 15% nitro also.

sadams, if your local hobby store carries Powermaster fuel they should be able to get the castor/synthetic blend.  Just tell them you want a case.  It will keep as long as jug is not opened and kept in the box it came in.  DOC Holliday

You just want a 10% nitro, 20% or 22% castor synthetic blend.  Both Powermaster and Sig are good, and available most commonly in those blends.  Both have the mixture on the labels.

I believe that both will work very well with Powermaster all synthetic.....that's all that Windy bought/sold in 2006.....try it...you'll like it.

My la's Fp's 2Stars and B40 love the SIG Champion 5/22 5%nitro 11% castor/11% klotz, you know the RED stuff.

HI Mike,
That's all we use (plus the same in 10%)  except for the "old engines".
I did use Sig 25% all castor in one of my old Iron/steel OS 40FPs.

Hi Mike,
I have used it in my Argus, and it worked fine!  I did open the venturi and add a couple shims.  The shims were directions from Tom D.  The venturi opening I got from some of the other guys.  That does make a big improvement in the avaslable power.  I had to go with a 3 blade Bolly due to the lack of ground clearance on the Argus.

My ARF Nobler is now set up with it.  just haven't flown it yet.  In fact, I haven't flown ANYTHING since the Oct. Huntersville contest.  >:( :( :o
