Stunt timed
Yes they will thus work in the 40FSR and Tower 40 and anything else FP40 sets fit.

Hope is At Hand . S?P
These will fit FSR 40 ( NOT 45 ) O.S. , Magnum , Royal, ASP and if theres any other clone seperate front husing suuckers .

Tho the C/L ' S ' had other shaft timing ( almost the same as Royal 45 ) if anyone else is inclined to try this .
FP Head Fits too ,

Thrown one on my gen u wine FSR 40 S OS , havnt persued sufficently , but seems to have softened it up no end .
Thought Id throw this on as theyre are zillions os FSRs out there , Tamed theyed be usefull.
Ive thrown the cases backward ( & the rod ) for outboard muffler , on my 40 & 45 .
dunno if this makes any run variation . Early Wisnewski Torpedos were thus orientated .

Thanks Matt H^^
Useful info for those that like the FSR's .
Have you run a Royal 45 ?
There are a lot of them around for cheap now as Rc flyers go gas or electric

I had a Royal 45 from a well-known, even notorious, reworker. It had tremendous power (compared to an ST46, anyway - just like all the "schneurle wars" engines), but by far, the worse "schneurle effect" of any engine any of us had ever tested. Even when shimmed for 6 second laps inverted and 5 seconds upright (about *1/4"* from equal), it still went screeching lean on outsides and rich on insides.
It was later given away and used with some success on a profile model.

I setup over 100 of those years ago, they are really good motors, My 3 of my friends had one a Vector, and they ran very well, Slight retime, head mod and TRUE venturi. Not a restrictor, when new you can also set the exhaust to the opposite side.
They also has a lot of power, we used 12 x 4.5 3 blades and 12 x 4.75 2 blade among other props
The 40 and 46 were much the same, and you could get both to run well, but the 45 was a much better engine

I have an FSR 40 and it runs beautifully. It may have been one Randy did as I got it from another C/L flier who never used it. Very fine engine!

My reworker was not so, uh, competent, including a drilled-through spraybar that was so off-center it there was no gap on one side, and sealed up with 5-minute epoxy. The resulting interaction was also less than satisfactory. Same guy responsible for the "negative blowdown" ST51.

Magnum 45 , Gerald. Havnt been able to score a cheap Royal 45 .
A vord off vorning ,
You can spend a hour meticulously drilling centering & reaming the spray bar hole , in a Magnum case ( 40 & 45 ) ;
Parrallel to the Cinch Bolt & centered in the intake ( Takes the OS 40 S intake ) .
Fit the Spay Bar & observe from above . The #%*! thing is 2 or 3 degrees ANGLED . Like the Cinch Bar . :P :-[
THEREFORE DONT use the cinch bar hole as a referance with the Vernier or Mallet . >:( >:(
Willum PMum you , Gerald . H^^
The 45 in the Magnum thing with the 12 x 4 3 Bl Bolly pretty much ' locked in ' , muffler bolts strip easy . Replaced 4 B.A.
Copy of C S C muffler raised objections. Significantly Quieter when it Fell Off . ;) :-X LL~ LL~ %^@ . ( 1 extra head gasket ) .
Want to fit a 45 to the P-51 for some reason. Probably authority on the 4 blade prop .& overhead injun authority .
The OS Front Case goes straight on the rest of the Magnum .
Swaping Case / outlet to outboard side, the rod big end chamfer for the crank radius needs to be taken into account ;
i.e. leave the rod front at the front , pull the wrist pin, reverse the piston so it still matches the bore as per original .
refit etc.
Trying shaving the block to drop the timing will see S.P.I. / exposed under piston @ T D C .

Hello thanks for all the info, my brother (Karl) is currently finihing a model (Pirrator) for an OS 45FSR so this is all relevant to Karl but I am not likely to give the FSR's a go. Do have a Royal 45 that looks destined for a trip over to see Matt as I have enough engine set ups to worry about already with my Fox's and Enya's. Regards Gerald ps have no power after our Antarctic storm so it's all cell phone for a few days #^

Thanks Gerald . Will thow a 5225 at you . Youll have to use a wooden prop . Hard Labour with bread & water , if they break the prop . S?P >:D
