Just a note and perhaps most of you already know this.

Read a note from Sharon at Fox on another forum.  Basically it seems that Fox is going out of the engine business.

I have basically gone to SuperTigre, OS and vintage engines I find on eBay.

Another sign of the times.  The Chinese are putting Fox out of business.

I ordered three OS .25 LA-S engines and just ordered two SuperTigre .34 CL engines.  Yes, I know the ST is made in China now.

It is sad.  But I have even bought some Chinese made rifle optics that seem pretty good. 

I do have a new Fox .35 Stunt and an older NIB Fox .35 Stunt.  Also have been snagging what I consider decent vintage engines from eBay when I see them and can afford them; most notably the KB greenheads, etc.

Sounds like the end of an era. I wonder what they will do with their spares inventory?

Yes, that is very Sad. :'(
However, when I got back into the hobby 4 years ago, I was amazed FOX still existed... and the fox 35 was still in production. I was so amazed I bought three brand new ones, two of which have the hemi kit.
Very sad indeed...

I started out with Fox. JR Flite Streak and a Fox .15.

       Called Fox three times today to confirm and got the, "...away from my desk or on the other line…." message each time.
       I ran a new Fox 25 BB with pressure for Speed Limit Combat last summer. Easy starting and didn't miss a beat the entire run. I could concentrate just on the flying.
       Flying a 'Slob with something other than a Fox 35?
       It's the end of an era for aging control liners like me!

On New Years day at the GSCB fun fly 5 different planes flew 1 was electric 1 had a Blue Bird engine on it and 3 were Foxes including my 15 x on my daughters Sig Buster, on almost any day there are a couple Foxes flying there, Long live Duke & Betty's legacy!

I would guess that it is Chinese made electric motors rather than Chinese IC motors that are the culprit. :-\

I would guess that a lot motors are now made in China.  Taiwan Board of Trade commented that they can no longer be competitive with mainland China.  Taiwan pays workers $1.60 an hour and mainland is paying $.16 ... obvious why even after shipping is factored in it is impossible for US industry to be competitively priced against that.

David, in these tough economic times Fox has had to retrench and focus our limited
number of employees on the outside jobs that provide a profit.

With the price of motors driven by the Chinese imports, Fox engine profitability is
limited.  At this time we don't have the ability to dedicate staff to our Fox engine
department.

When the economy improves and outside jobs increase, we'll be able to resume
engine production.
