Greetings,
Frequently the issue comes up about profile-mounted FOX 35 Stunt engines "burping" during outside maneuvers. Long ago someone came up with a generally proven fix for this. The remedy is the installation of a wooden plug in the engine's bypass passage. Several people have had questions about making/installing this bypass plug . Hopefully questions about the placement, dimensions, and material of construction will be answered by the attached drawing and photos. Remember the dimensions on the drawing are approximate - you need to carve and trial fit the plug to your engine.

Very good description and pix, Dennis. I do it with JB Weld instead of a stick. Shape it with a Dremel tool.

Thanks Dennis, I just printed off a copy to put in my copy of Tom Morris' book on his building techniques. The book also has jigs, tools and how to's. Having fun, DOC Holliday

John, Dennis,
Probably nothing new but I discovered with one of my 35's that the position (front to back) in the bypass made a great deal of difference. Mine worked best if it was positioned towards the front of the engine and not in the middle of the bypass. Don't know why. ???

This makes me think now of the spray bar position. Especially the one with a single hole. DOC Holliday

Most reliable cure I've found for the Fox .35 burp is the OS .25 LA-S. Come to the Dark Side, Jedi knight, and experience the full power of The Force!

Now that, was funny.

But they didn't make O.S. .25's in 1951...

Hi Guys,
Just wondering how you fuelproof the wood in the Burp fix?
Thanks,

You don't.
It gets oil soaked.
