Title: FOX 59 short shaft
Post by: Stan Tyler on August 19, 2009, 02:48:34 PM
I recently picked up a FOX 59 short shaft motor at a local swap. It appears to be in generally good shape but it does feel like it has a worn conrod crankpin end bushing. The motor is the early non ringed version.

Anyone out there doing rework or reconditioning on these motors?

Thanks,
Stan

Fox "may" have some a rod that could be used---about a year ago I was able to get a few odd parts for the 59 from them.

The Fox 59 has a bushing that goes on the end of the crank conrod pin. If it is missing it will allow the rod to move back and forth and wear the rod out very fast .
