Title: Fox 40 ABC Deluxe
Post by: t michael jennings on January 29, 2017, 06:42:32 PM
Randy,

Have several Fox 40 ABC Deluxe engines.

Can these engines run on 23% castor/synthetic oil or do they require 28% castor/synthetic oil?

These engines have run on 28% oil content for several years.
Considering to use the 23% oil, if it will not harm the engines.

Thanks for the information.

Hi   as  MM  said  , they should be just fine, so try it and  see, unless  they are really  varnished  heavily  i don't see  any problem

My Fox 40 Deluxe ABC would not run on Power Master GMA 10-23% oil fuel. Every time I did a loop or eight and pulled out level the engine would quit. I tried many different glow plugs and always had the same problem when I was running a fast 4 2 4 break. The cure was to run 10-20% oil, half caster/synthetic fuel. The engine really ran well with the 20% oil fuel and any good plug would work, some guys could not believe that it was a Fox40 after they heard the engine run. My engine is mounted on a profile, APC 11.5x4 prop, .285 Venturi, PA needle valve assembly, uniflow tank, and stock muffler.
