Title: Fox 35 Ceramic liners
Post by: Marvin Denny on December 22, 2007, 08:35:29 PM
This is a HEADS UP alert.  I have received information that some of the Ceramic Piston/Liner assemblies , when installed in some engines along with the stuffer backplate will experience interference on the down stroke.  The piston on the down stroke will contact the top of the stuffer backplate.  I have installed four, and one had this problem and I have heard of two more since that have the same problem.
Be sure to check for this condition if you are installing the new ceramic P & L assembly with the stuffer back plate.  I am going to remove about 0.020 inch of metal off the top of all the stuffer backplates that I have or install with the  ceramic  assemblies on the stunt 35.  I am going to place a call to Fox Mfg next week  and bring this problem to their attention.  hopefully they will shorten the skirt on the pistons.
