Title: Fox 35 AAC P&L from RSM
Post by: Paul Raley on May 06, 2011, 09:50:41 AM
I was wondering if anyone has first hand experience with the Fox 35 AAC piston and liner assembly listed by RSM for $75. Fox lists their ceramic piston and liner for $125 (yikes!). Strange, since you can get the complete engine on sale for $20 more! But anyway, I have heard good things about these modern ABC/AAC/Ceramic setups in an old Fox and was looking for the least expensive way to give it a try. I have a candidate motor with a rebalanced crank, stuffer backplate, hemi head, and PA NVA.

I have an Aero Tiger 36 in my T-Bird so I know how good modern engines can be, but there is something about a raspy old Fox 35 in a Nobler...

You will probably get pretty much the same feed back as you got on the other forum. From what I understand - ceramic equals more fuel consumption. You may want to check with RSM regarding the AAC setup. I was under the impression that Fox quit making them and now only offer the ceramic P&L. I suppose Eric may still have a few left but ???  Personally, I'd just run with the Fox you have. It already has the right stuff. 8)

I called to order a set from Eric at RSM.    He stated that he was out of them
and has been waiting for a shipment for the past couple of months.

Thanks! If Eric is out of them then that takes care of that option.  I was looking for a bit more punch out of my already souped up Fox.  I will probably just go with a OS MAX 35S - same cool sound and a bit more power.
