Title: Fox .35 - '53 or '54?
Post by: Terry Caron on July 09, 2017, 12:25:07 PM
I'd like to determine the production year of my new acquisition.
According to AMEE, the difference between the 2 years is that '54 has "bypass enlarged on crankcase".
So what/where is the measurable difference to distinguish between them?

Thanks.

More study of Bill M's excellent dissertation on Fox .35s and mine is a '53, the visual difference being the slight overhang of the bottom cooling fin past the top of the bypass.
The '53 also came with a (galvanized?) O&R drive washer, the '54 a black Fox washer.

Yes, Mike, thanks for posting that link - that's Bill's work which I referred to.
