 What size bolts are used in a Fox 19 in the head and back plate?   Obliged    H^^   D>K

The one I have uses 4-40 bolts. D>K

If you are going to switch to socket head bolts you should file down the the head diameter to 0.167" to match the original Fox bolts (I have used a drill press or even a power drill to hold the bolt and hand file). If you don't, the heads will bind against the head bolt sockets and can distort the case and cause the piston to bind which gives erratic runs.

 First thanks for the advice, I forgot to say the engine has a 4 bolt back plate so it is earlier than I thought, I am gonna look for a gasket set also, again thanks... #^ #^

I just looked at my Fox 19's & 25's even have a 201 and they all have 4-40 socket head replacements. Doing that used to be SOP back in the day. Anyone interested in these ?Also have a NIB 25 (the new style circa 1973).
