Comparison OS LA40 to OS 40FP
« on: April 02, 2016, 04:13:36 PM »
Can anyone tell me if these two engines are dimensionally the same, I'm building a Primary Force and plan to use a 40FP I'm waiting to arrive (just bought it) and I have a LA40 available to use for building the fuselage.

If there's any difference it's the length of the snout (mounting holes to spinner backplate, basically).

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I got both here. For mounting purposes, they are identical. If i line up the mounting bolts, it looks like the prop drive is the same length. The overall height is the difference. But in a profile, no big deal there.
