I was recently given an Eyna 35 V, Model 5225, it has no muffler or venturi insert, but seems to be in good condition otherwise.
Is this a suitable stunt engine ? What mods does it need (if any) ? Where do I look for parts ?
Thanks for any help offered,
Gil

Hello Gil,
I am not familiar with the 5225. The one that I know is the 5224 and that is an excellent stunt engine, with suitable venturi. The only problem with Enya's of that vintage is that they take forever to run in and they never seem to wear out, although I did manage to wear a 5224 crankpin oval. The rod was fine as was everthing else!
I am sure that Randy will be able to offer some sound advice.
Regards,
Andrew.

Hi Gil.
Yep Randy imports Enyas and their parts.

The 35-V came out in very late '79 and was the successor to the IIIB (there never was a 35-IV unlike the 29). Major change was fitting a head shim which could be removed to raise compression from the standard 7.5:1 instead of supplying a high compression head as before. Piston/liner fit was supposedly a little looser than earlier engines so that running in time could be shortened.

I have many parts for it, and you can use one of the mufflers I make for the Enya with a strap if it has no muffler lugs

Randy, I posted my question because I'm not familar with the model 5225.....first, is it worth fooling with ?
It has muffler lugs, & unless you suggest otherwise I would use a tongue muffler.
The carb or venturi insert is missing....I assumed the the engine started life as an RC motor.
In the swap meet where I got the Eyna, I aslo got an Mc Coy 40 Red Head, I'll need a thrust washer fot it.
A friend picked up a K&B 35 Stallion, can you tell me anything about that motor.....so far we can only get it to run out the prime, it wont draw fuel, it looks like the venturi is WAY too big, did K&B sell the engine with multiple size inserts?
