When in the too much fuel/squeaky piston mode try setting the prop against compression then slapping it down against the direction of rotation. Some call it a "bump" start.  Takes a little technique but works well with engines that exhibit this characteristic. This is probably better than trying to force the prop through when it the prop is pinching up top.  I have found it works well with my Evo .36.

Point taken - I use an 11x4 when I use that method.  It works for me but not 100% of the time. I also have noticed that I usually do not get a pre-start "bump" when turning the prop prior to engine start...it may just be my technique but it does make it a little more difficult to determine when the engine is ready to go.
