I'm asking this for a friend. Is there any way to determine (with the engine disassembled) if the P&L of an Evo 36 is the R/C version or the C/L version. I know there is a difference. Thanks in advance. 8)

C/L has only two transfers...

Thanks Dave, I was hoping this thread would catch your eye. FWIW: My Evo runs great, still using the remote NV but an OS RC NV is waiting in the wings. Best to your Dad. 8)

Pete,
Did you have to do anything to the Evo .36 remote needle valve set up? Is it in a upright or inverted postion or is it on a profile?
-
It's just on a profile so the position of the spray bar doesn't make any difference. I don't plan on using it in a full bodied plane only because I have other comparable engines that work well and don't need any special airframe mods. 8)

You don't have to disassemble the engine, just look through the exhaust port. If there is a port straight across, then it's an RC engine.

Thanks all for the input. P & L have been determined to be the C/L version as we had hoped. Engine was received disassembled without carb which is why the question was asked. Some very impressive internal workmanship evident...large brass conrod bushings w/tapered oil holes among other features. Now to put it back together... 8)

Good to hear. I beat the heck out of mine and it's still going. I've been running the 60 more lately. I flew it to a second place at the Signal Seekers contest. Big is coming over to watch football with my son Mike and I tomorrow. Go Blue.......
