I was offered an Enya 45CXL RE the other day, which was an interesting thing to hold as I'd never seen one before. The issue is that it is past it's best and down on compression. The wisdom of the seller was that Enya used the same PL sets of other 45's but just turned them around for the RE. This smelled as fishy as a five day old salmon dipped in fish sauce and sprinkled in dried fish bits ... but is it true? For the life of me it sound dumb, but on the commercial side of things it would make sense!

I think the piston skirt is different and it would not work. But the good news is that Enya has 45CXL P/L for sale. You can order from Randy Smith or directly from Enya. I order one set a few weeks ago.
This is a very rare engine and I like it better then OS VF. It is lighter, AAC construction and stronger with 146o exhaust timing.
Mine works really well with pipe at 19.5" 7.5mm venturi and 12.5x3.75 3 blade c.f. prop.

Thanks for your reply Martin. When I googled it your video was the first thing to appear!
It turns out that the fellow who was with me took up the offer, so the engine is his now and I will hear how it goes. There are spare cases on ebay, but building one up from spares becomes very expensive!
