A friend gave me an ENYA 19 V last week. After a crock pot bath it seems to run great. Can anybody tell me tell me anything about this engine: When made, construction, etc.

The 19V model 4005 came out in late 1968. Major differences from previous versions are that the stroke is 1mm less (making it the first oversquare 19), the rod was shortened by 2 mm and the piston was also shortened so overall height is less than previously. Bearer spacings are also slightly smaller. Naturally it's still a cast iron piston and steel liner so needs a good dose of castor to keep it happy (forever

). The BB version arrived in 71/72.

Great little sport engines! With the right fuel, they'll last an extremely long time, too. I have several of them and have gotten tons of fun over the years.

I got one for $10 nib, still breaking the tuff little guy in. Almost getting one flip starts but after running it is still tight. More running is needed. Enya's are a great investment.---LOUIE

I have a 19 IV that I bought back in the 60's that still runs great. I think it took about 27 gallons of fuel to break it in. LOL It is in a Tom Tom now with a carb and three lines. It started out in a Flying Fool, then went to R/C duty in an Esquire, then, ----- You get the idea. It has been in many planes over the years.

A friend gave me one about 40 years ago. It was in great shape and no where near broken in! It is now, MAYBE, broken in. Last plane is a Akromaster from Sig for my son. Run it in a wet 2 with a 9 X 4 prop. It will probably turn more prop but that size has done great.

I love my little Enya 19V,(yes I,ve got one too). Had it since I was a kid, and it still runs great. Enya's are in a class by themselves when it comes to longevity. That fact that, in this day and age of electrics and numerous offbrands of engines, I'm noticing the "Sold Out" sign at the Enya website coming up pretty often. I have plans for more Enya's on my shortlist.

P.S. just recently flew an Enya 35 ring BB motor and it performed top draw.

A moon brothers Nobler ARF-not mine. Had a killer prop on it, and it was cooking.

I've got an SS35 in a Chizler - it runs really nicely, and certainly no shortage of power.

The 19-V is good also - plenty of fun in something like a light Ringmaster or Flitestreak. Either an 8x6 or 9x4 would be good.

The New little Enya 20 C/L is a great little motor too
