The Hobby shop I stop at on my 2 day run is pretty much R/C Helo's and planes, I am the only C/L customer. The owner was contacted by a elderly woman whose husband has recently passed away concerning his old C/L planes. When I stopped by yesterday he showed me what was there. Most of the planes are pretty rough in shape, but there was over a dozen engines all old. Diesels, about 5 of them the 2 I looked at had ED on the case. One was about a 20ish size the other was smaller than an 049, looking it up in an old AHC cat. it's probobly an 027.
There where several K&B greenheads a 29 and 35, the exhaust was shaped like the O&R's.
About 4 O&R's one was a 29 for sure one also had a blue head ??
1 Fox 29 with the exhaust rectangular with squared corners not rounded.
one large Spark Ignition set up still in the remains of the nose section of a plane.
It had Super 60 on one side and CUB on the other with a patent number.
There was a DeMeco Speed Wagon 30 in restoreable shape with a McCoy 29 rear intake Red Head (I've never seen before) was a little tricky getting out but managed to without destroying anything.
I'm thinking of making an offer for the whole batch but don't have a clue what to offer. I know without pics of everything and a list of all the engines this isn't much to go on.
Any info on the engines and maybe some price guesses would be helpfull. Thanks

Leester The problem you run into here is the E/BAY crowd thinks all this stuff is supper collectible and will bid it up. I reality all those motors are quite common. I have the KB 29.32.35 as you describe. They have the lower crankshaft below the beam mts. I would just offer what you are comfortable with if you are just going to display them. If you are going to flip them to e/bay then you need to know the going e/bay price. I use to have a Red Head just like that one I ran in speed in the early 50's. It would only turn around 15,000 with a lot of nitro. But it was a lot of fun and people were waiting for it to blow up any second.

I'd start by searching Ebay, check the option to search the completed auctions and see what they're going for there. A lot of the same engines that go through MECA go through ebay for less money. Depending on condition the price can vary a lot. Just about any mostly complete 29-40 size engine will bring $40-50, maybe more if its nice, really nice engines can go out of sight. The Super 60's have been bringing $100 or more for complete engines on Ebay lately. O&R's are common but they seldom drop below $40 and sometimes bring stupid prices.
