Hello all,
I just ordered a 54" Corsair from Pat King:

The only engines other than cox I have any experience with are a fox .15 and an LA .46. I have the LA .46 on my Fancherized Twister and am extremely happy with it. I was going to put an LA .46 on the Corsair but the Super Tigre .51 has caught my eye. Is that to much engine for a 536 square inch plane?
Whatever I go with I want to buy new so I can order from my local hobby shop.
Thank you for your replies,
Jim

You will not get a new ST51 from Tower Hobbies as they have been
'Temporarily unavailable for about 4 years and counting. That leaves you looking for someone who will part with a new example.
Enya makes a nice 50BB but that also is temporarily 'sold out' but you have a good bet that they will be making a new run of them. Check with Randy Smith at Aero Products in the vendors corner of the forums.

I was going to suggest the LA.46, should be about an ideal combo for that airplane. Since you've already been running one and are happy with it I'd say to get yourself another for the Corsair.
Pat's F4U is a good looking design, please keep us posted on the project. y1

As far as I know the Enya SS50 is available from Enya now and has been for quite sometime. Enya is out of the SS45 and 40XZ.

Be Aware that the ST51 may well give you a headache. I had a new Italian made ST51 and I could not get it to run worth a dime. The ST51 seems to have a chequered reputation. some find it works out the box, others need to make some extensive work to get it suitable for stunt and yet others like me have given up on it. You have been warned!
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
I cannot comment on a stock ST G.51. All the ones I have run passed through either the late Tom Lay's or Randy Smith's hands. I have no clue what either one did but they were awfully good stunt engines! High rpm low pitch 4-2 with plenty of power.

Hi Jim,
I would go with the .46LA and not let the weight of the model get out of hand.

Just went past Franks Hobby House and ordered the LA .46.
Thanks for the comments,
