Methanol is chemically very aggressive and can dissolve several binders used to formulate paints.  Nitrate based coatings (for example) have no chance to resist, so consider this factor carefully before choosing the paint.

Let me add something to this question.
The absolute clear (PP, purissima, analytical quality) nitromethan is not as aggressive as methanol. However, it is usually 5-10 times more  expensive than technical quality, which used  as fuel for model engines, dragsters, etc.
The impurity is some minimal acidic residue,  which can be corrosive for copper, brass and aluminum alloys, and some paints.
