Today, I was able to put some runs on my new Stalker Big Bore, the .81RE. As far as I know, mine is the second one to enter the country.
Earlier, Walter Hicks, who owns the other one, reported on his engine. I'll back him up, mine runs essentially the same way his does.
First the specs. I used FAI fuel, about 18% all synthetic oil. For breakin, I used a 13.25 X 6 pitch prop.
I fueled up with 3 oz's of fuel, and the engine started on the second flip. The engine was dialed up to the point where it was just switching between a 4 stroke and a wet 2. The RPM's were 7500 to 7600. I closed the needle valve to see where it would rev to. It peaked out at about 78-7900. It just didn't want to go any faster.
I made a total of 4 runs. The engine seemed to settle in at about 7500-7600. It appears to run about 2 minutes for each oz of fuel. 6 mins 15 seconds on 3 oz's, 8.5 mins on 4 oz's.
At this point, I will run it next in a plane. It appears to me that the engine is a grunter, prefering to run a big prop, with about 6" pitch.
The sound, though containing a bit of a bark to it, seemed no worse than most 60's I've been around.
Perhaps Walter will pitch in with any additional info he might have.
I'm rapidly becoming a big bore freak.

whoops, I had to edit this because I made a typo on the engine size. I changed it from a .61 to the correct .81RE.
