The Evolution .52 R/C conversion.
« on: November 24, 2019, 10:24:24 AM »
I found that Evolution made a .52 r/c engine and I wanted a cheap .52 so I bought one. And an even cheaper ASP .52. This is about the Evo .52. I had Jim Lee make a true venturi and an adapter for the n.v.a. I've run it enough to say it's broken in. It has a cough in outside corners. [ I have it on a profile] The other day I likened the cough to the Fox Burp. I took the engine apart and fit a thinned piece of popsicle stick into the bypass just like on the Fox. I flew it this morning and the burp/cough is gone. There is no power loss and fuel burn is the same.
I don't know why I'm writing this as I'm the only one using the Evo .52 r/c converted to control line on a kit built Pathfinder.
It is the same crankcase used for the .60 c/l engine so it's a bolt in swap.
I have a .60 on another profile and I'll evaluate it's performance and do the popsicle stick thing if necessary.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.
I wouldn't take her to a dog fight even if she had a chance to win.

The Evo .60 on my warbird profile runs perfectly so there is no need for any mods.
