Title: B 40 Needle Valve
Post by: Allen Eshleman on August 04, 2009, 04:31:26 PM
I am breaking in a new Brodak 40.  I put it on an old profile plane as a test stand.  It starts easily.  I have run it 6 times for 6 1/2 minutes.

However, the needle valve does not stay in one place.  How can I tighten it?

There should be/have been a locking collar (nut) for the needle valve which, when installed properly, will allow the N V to be adjusted but retain the selected position by applying pressure to the spraybar into which the N V fits..........

Thanks Jim,
I tightened it up.  It now has 15 short runs.  Five or so more to go and it will fly.  I have it on a very old "Cosmic Wind for break - in.  The profile format made an easy test stand.  I will fly it there for awhile.  Then it is destined for a Nobler.
