Aluminum Stopper for plastic jug
« on: June 21, 2014, 05:31:20 PM »
Many years back someone was making a machined aluminum stopper for a plastic fuel jug. In the recessed area was 2 fittings one for fuel out, the other for air in.  At the end of the day you just put the regular cap back on the jug to seal everything up. When the jug was empty you moved it to a new full jug.

Are they still being made?  By whom?

I haven't seen one of those in a long time. But they do make this one, which is better, in my opinion:

Drill a hole in a spare cap, put this in, ready to go. This one is air-tight and i just leave it in the fuel can, in the back of the car, all the time.

Thank You Brett!  #^

Looking for one at Tower, they have them at a better price, when I discovered this:
http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61582  also at Tower.

It is neat but a bit more than I was looking for at $30.+  .

The second one is not air-tight, it's just a slip-fit brass tube.

No, I live in sunny california, where my fuel goes from 50 degrees to maybe 140 (in a hot car on a sunny day) on a daily basis. Or where it is routinely >100 degrees with outrageous UV indices. The fuel probe system has no problem handling the pressure variations, and there is no problem with the can exploding in the heat.

I've got two of those 'luminum jug caps, one new, one used but in good condition. If you want them, we can work out a good deal for both. Holla!  H^^ Steve
