Title: after run oil
Post by: Bootlegger on August 03, 2014, 06:39:56 AM

Guy's which after run oil do you use and why that one?
I am using Marvel Mystery Air Tool oil in mine as it seems to protect the bearings well and cleans out easily when I prime the engine.
I also hook up the glo driver after the last flight and prop out every bit of fuel that I can get out of the engine before installing the A/R oil.

 Your thoughts...

I use Rislone oil treatment.  It works fine with diesels as well.

Hi Gil,

I use air tool oil I got at Lowe's.  Not sure of the brand.  For storage (long term), I use 50/50 mix of that and Rislone.  The Rislone was George Aldrich's idea.

Marvel Air Tool oil, or most any Air Tool Oil  is the best thing to use, I cover this in the article I wrote for Flying Models some years ago.

You can get the air tool oil from Lowes , Home depot, Hobby Shops have after run oil, and Auto Parts stores most all have it
