Title: AAC or ABC Piston/liner sets for ST 46
Post by: Robert Zambelli on January 15, 2021, 02:23:11 PM
I met a few people who ran the ST 46 with this setup and were very pleased.

Are they still available and from whom?

THANKS, Bob Z.

That are probably Brian Gardner units. He does the P&L sets in batches. He will make an announcement on the main forum about what he is offering and then take orders. If there is enough interest in that particular engine set, he'll announce an approximate production start and delivery date. It's a slow process, but the results are worth the wait. He is a member of the forum so you can look him up and drop him a line and see if he has any ST.46 sets left over or has plans for another run. Brian has done sets for just about all the favorite stunt engines from the L.25 to the ST.60.
   Type at you later,

I do not have and have not run Brian's alternate liner, but I have seen a few of them. And the fit was *remarkable*, extraordinary, you could put it up to TDC and leave it and it will not leak down appreciably in any time I was willing to wait for it. VASTLY better than any stock unit, even my "world's strongest ST46".

Thanks for the information.
Per your advice, I sent Brian a message.

I'll have another run of them ready soon, (March) but as usual the demand is more than supply. The waiting list always grows over the length of time a run takes to produce - and I always make extras - but never enough it seems. So I will plan to make another run later this year. But the backlog of work due to the extensive delays Covid19 has caused is huge.
