Any of you gents have knowledge of a CoMo 51 made in Italy? It looks like a round cyl. version of the current g51 ST. It has muffler lugs and weighs 11.250 oz. . The engine is gummed up right now but appears to be a single ring. Anybody ever run one?

Hi Gordon  does  it have a  baffle on the piston? or is it a  loop charged  version?

Como engines were made by Super Tiger for John Mahoney. He owned and operated one of the early mega hobby enterprises, World Hobby, (I think that was the name). I believe he was the one who first imported OS engines into the U.S. back in the late 50's.

The como was and is basically, a Super Tiger engine under a different name. It should perform much the same.

Just now pulled the head , it has a baffle on the piston and the head has a small but deep hemi chamber.

That one will make a very good stunt engine, we ran those many years ago, they run just like a ST 60 or ST 46, I used a Bolly 12 x 6 3 blade or a 12.5 x 5.5  2 blade, a Rev up 12 x 6 also worked well on that engine.
That version of the Como had mild timing like the ST 46 , and produced good power,  I perfer it to the NEW G 51 we have now. Several people...me included put ST 60 piston and sleeves in the Como 51, that worked out well too
