Hey guys, I happened to be packing away some of my old gear and I came across a set of 46 vf's that I knew I had, I'm tempted to use them in CL if I can.
I spoke to one of the local guys here and he told me that while the VF makes a good stunt motor, there's so much modification that needs to be done, that the only thing left original is the crankcase.
These motors are pretty tired, and don't have headers (came from one of my RC buddies..) , but if there's not much to be done in getting one or both running as stunt motors I'd like to try.

Yikes! "Local Engine Experts" strike again. The 46VF, bone stock, runs a lot like the 40VF, and that is one of the best stunt engines of all time. DO NOT modify it. At the time I ran it (1988 or so) we didn't have the props to take full advantage of the extraordinary performance, but we certainly do now.
Check out the article David (with some assistance from yours truly) wrote on the 46AAC setup, it will work with the stock engine, too.

Hi Greg
I have pipes, gaskets, headers, bearings, cranks, housings, a few P/S and other parts for the 46 VF, they make a great stunt motor, but not stock, you need to remove the RC carb and drill the front for CL venturie and NVAs. I made 100s of those for people, along with the 40 VF
A 12 x 4.5 3 blade or 12.5 x 4.25 2 blade CF props is really really good on them

Randy, thanks for the info, I idly happened to look at one of the motors last night before going out to dinner, and noticed that it's brand-spanking new, just a little patina on the outside. the piston is silver, the exhaust port is clean!
I'll be in touch about parts in the next month, I have a toad on my workbench I need to clear first!
