Enya 5224 square black venturis
« on: February 07, 2014, 11:41:36 AM »
Hello,
Can you still get the square black venturis for the Enya 35 (model5224). Is it the middle of the three versions required for stunt? Finally which NVA assembly is the correct diameter? Will the modern Enya NVAs be the right size?
I have dug out a couple of these engines (didn't know I had them!) and after a good clean and lube, they are in remarkably good condition. I just need a couple of venturi and NVA setups. Pity not to use these underated engines for a little sports flying.
I believe this topic has come up on more than one occasion, but the search function isn't turning up the goods!

Thanks,

Andrew.

I have been known to carve an insert out of  maple motor mount stock for square intake Fox combat engines.

Hello Jim!
You are quite right, I must be getting lazy in my old age. If they were round, then I would make them. Its just easier to buy the square ones if they are available!

Best Wishes,

Andrew.

You might find the venturi on Ebay, but it is very rare.

The correct NVA is P/N 29420 and it is readily available from Enya Dealers or directly from Enya. I Suggest you talk to Randy Smith.

It'd be worth asking Enya about the venturis, as they can often help out with parts for old engines (a couple of years ago I bought a new crankshaft for a 1966 15-III from them).  They also did a run of new 5224s, with the square venturi, in the last 5 years or so, so there's a pretty good chance they could help you out.

Enya is out of the square venturis, I asked several weeks ago. Someone on one of the forums said that Ken Enya would be producing more later this year or next. Don't know how true that is.

Just to add, they still have screw sets, needle valves, prop nuts, hi and lo heads and crankshafts for both the 29 IV and 35 III, piston and liner sets for the 35s only. Possibly prop drivers as well.

Bobby Brooks who has "The Control Line Store" on eBay said he has a few, but they are not listed in his store.  You can contact the "Seller" via the store.
