PA 65 and 75 Mounting dimensions..
« on: September 15, 2006, 04:43:25 PM »
Does anybody have the mounting dimensions for a PA 65 and PA 75 engines?  Width between engine bearers and total width of engine lugs would be appreciated.
Thanks

And while we're at it-
Are the PA 61 and PA 65 the same dimensions externally (i.e mounting bolt pattern, case width, etc.)? Thanks for any help.

Hi Dennis,

The .61 and .65 are direct swaps.  The .75 is different, I think.  I don't have one.............. yet.

Hi Crist

The PA 40,51,61,and65 all have the same mounting size hole location and Lenght as the  OS Max 40-46 SF, and the OS MAX 40-46 VF  engines. The 40 is shorter than the OS, and the 51 , 61, 65 are  1\4 of an inch taller than the 40. Most of these are shown on my plans.

The New Merlin series Ultralite 40, is more the case width of a FOX 35 or  Magnum 36, however it has 4 exact mount holes that are the same as a Super Tiger 35,40,46.
It is longer however than the ST so No prop shaft extensions would be necessary, and the bearing can do a better job of support.

The New Merlin series  75, Is .050 thou wider across the bottom of the case, but the Lent, NVA location and  Header location are the same. The Merlin 75 has 4 holes that are the same mounting size as a Super Tiger 60.

Regards
Randy
