Reasonable 1/4-32 plugs on ebay
« on: October 03, 2014, 04:24:24 PM »
I purchased a couple of 1/4-32 plugs off of ebay for $20.00 for the pair with free shipping. I have been running them the last few days on the test stand and they run great. So if you are looking for some inexpensive plugs you might take a look They seem to be well made. There are several sellers of them, but one guy is selling them in pairs. My Orwick starts and runs well with them.

Hi Bro Jim,

How do you identify them?  Is there a "product name"?  Or do all 1/4 - 32 spark plugs work for us?

Thanks!

The ones I got have no name on them. They just stay 1/4-32 on them. I have not found any that do not work for us as long as they fit and are not to short or to long. The VR-3 plugs are short and were only used in Torpedos and a few others. They should not be used in the other engines because they are so short they will ruin the threads below where carbon builds up, and since they are so short it is easy to strip out the threads. Rimfires are good but more expensive at more than twice the price.

  Hey Jim;
   Are you talking spark plugs? I need to get a couple for future projects. Got everything else, but not sure on plugs. I think everything I have spark wise takes 1/4-32.
   Type at you later,

Hi Dan;

Yes, these are 1/4-32 spark plugs. I see they are still on the bay but he has raised his price to $23.98 for 2 plugs. But, he still has free shipping which makes them pretty inexpensive compared to the others that cost $20.00 ea., plus shipping. I have been running them some and they seem to work just fine. Hope this helps.

My best guess is that these are the same plugs - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__56139__Rcexl_1_4_32_Spark_Plug.html.  The NGK 1/4-32 plugs were only about $12/ea a few years ago, but they have gone up in price ($15-20+/ea.) and seem to be getting harder to find.

Those look exactly like the ones I got. Not sure who is making them, but they do seem to work well. The plugs for the Saito spark motors look very similar, and I am guessing the same company makes theirs also.
