Still around??
« on: January 11, 2011, 07:33:00 AM »
Hello,
I'm new here and was wondering if C/L World is still operating or are they gone? Checked the website and it seems the last activity is in 2007. Thank you....

I think the website that has not been updated can put off people: I have never seen a copy of the magazine and the website is ancient -> am I sure I will get something for my money... ???  :-\  ;)

Oh Yes, I got mine in Central Illinois a couple of weeks ago.

Ah, I see what you are saying.

Brodak needs to update this site or kill it because it implies that nothing has happened for the last three years!!!

I agree that the site needs updating or deleting.
I sent a message to Nikki about the comments on this site.

The site was updated to show the price increase. The information on the site is about the original complimentary issue dated October 2006.  I have authored 8 articles that have appeared in 6 issues since then.

As of the January 2011 issue the stack of Control Line World magazines is 4 3/8 inches tall.

 #^ Hi ALL,

Sorry to see that the "old" site is causing grief. Until it can be deleted, please inform any and all of your flying family and friends, to visit us at the Brodak website: www.brodak.com. There you can get a glimpse of the newest issue's cover, subscribe, and even contact us if you have any question.

Once again, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience the old site may have caused.

Thank you,
Nikki Albert, CLW Editor

P.S. If you are interested in submitting an article for publication, please feel free to contact me: nikki@brodak.com.

Brodak could also help themselves by putting a home page link on the site. Those who have bookmarked the site from another page (me) can never get to the home page by navigating the site. I've never seen another site that did not put a "Home" link up for that reason.

As for the magazine, there appears to be no link to it from any other page; at least I could not find a link on any page I could navigate to. Nor did a search for "Control Line World" bring up the magazine (I thnk that is odd).

Try clicking the Brodak logo at the top. Many sites use their logo at the top as a Home link.

To be honest, I never "moused" over the logo, so didn't know. But if you have "real" links for all other pages, why not the home page? And if they really wanted to promote the magazine, why not a Control Line World link on all the pages? Wouldn't take much, and would help dummies like me look better.
