With the retirements of Mark Warwashana and Leon Rytrasyck I have inherited the assets and leadership of the elite and exclusive Strahmoor Club of Detroit.  Fortunately, Ron Colombo and his loyal Detroit Combat Team supporters are still on board.

The traditional May contest, always the weekend following Mothers Day, will be held May 16-17, 2026.

The entry fee is $20 for all the events you can fly.  All contestants will be welcomed and sworn in to The Strathmoor Club.  This is part of my program to enhance and extend the club.  The prizes will be a new idea.  The winners of the most matches on Saturday and Sunday will each receive a one-year extension of your AMA licenses.  As the official president of an AMA chartered club I have the ability to do this.  I tested it and it works.

Saturday events:  330 1/2A,  329 Speed Limit, WWII Air-to-Air, if anybody besides me has one.
Sunday events:  328 Fast, 328A F2d Fast, 331 F2d,  also carrier.

The Cleveland bunch will be there on Saturday! Two of us are flying both Speed limited and half A!

We had a yard work day on Thursday and the turf is good.

We had a good day by current standards.  Five from Detroit and three from Cleveland.
Being right at the end of the WC didn't help any.
Some of our regulars who aren't in condition to compete came out & helped and/or watched.

We all owe a big debt of gratitude to Ron Colombo for maintanimg the field for several decades.

Fast and furious combat is still alive in Detroit.  My two new Fasts, one Nelson and one Fora both fly and run absolutely perfect. I can barely even fly them, let alone compete.  I managed to lose to Brzys without wrecking anything.  Marchilloni did that in the explosive final.

The army truck is owned driven by the combat fan Ron Ernst.  It's a multi-fuel 10 x 10 with a straight six turbo diesel.
