This is a quicky preliminary report.
After three days of flying at the
Toronto and District Championships, including Training Day on Friday, the 12th, we have Monday off to make the 570-mile trek to Carmichaels, then five more days of competition. If all goes to plan, we should have an 8-man posse at
The Brodak.
Speed Limit Combat - 14 entries.
FIRST - Brad LaPointe, The Beanfield, Dresden, 6-0.
SECOND - Paul Smith, Sterling Heights, 4-2.
THIRD - Chris Gay, Chicago; Ivan MacKenzie and Peter Hanson, Toronto, 3-2.
While driving across the 402 Sunday night for a quick airplane and laundry change at home, I recalled that I made this same drive as a passenger in 1963, returning from my first attempt at conquering the T&D. A great contest then and even greater now, thanks to
Chris Brownhill and the Toronto Balsa Beavers.
