Title: sleeving spectra lines with para cord 75.
Post by: dave siegler on July 22, 2017, 08:28:20 AM
first try at using sleeves on spectra line.

Use para cord 75, single inner strand
use about 6 inches to make a loop, remove the central strand
use small diameter wire doubled over to feed the line through.  I used copper wrapping wire
heat sear the ends of the para cord.  or they unravel.  A good time is while the wire is in the casing.
Pull the spectra through the para cord and tie a figure 8 knot.

scientific tests coming in a week or so.  Oshkosh is next week.

Initial pull tests opened up a line clip, so it looks good.  I need to borrow a pull test scale.

Any kind of braided, hollow fishing line in the 50-100lb test range will work the same way.  Power Pro and a couple others are now offering hollow Specta line.
