Norm Johnston returns!
« on: May 15, 2011, 07:55:09 PM »
Some of you may remember Norm Johnston, who flew combat in the District VIII area during the early-mid 70's.  Norm flew Nemesis II and Bosta's and took 5th at the 74 NATS.  He resurfaced yesterday , May 14th, at an RC Combat contest that I was attending in Richardson, TX (an east Dallas suburb).  Norm lives north of the Dallas area, has been flying RC for several years and with any luck, I've convinced him to start flying RC Combat in the next few months.  At next weeks Q-500 pylon race, I intend to pack a couple of Nelson-powered AMA combat planes and maybe a couple of F2d's in the car and give him a taste of going round and round again.  Great to see him again.

Wow! Tell him hello for me. We both were combat flyers back in those days.

I think Norm's name rings a bell.

Wishing you had grabbed the handle on the Stunt Pilot Rust Remover for some fun.

I think this Speed limit/ War-bird combat thing may have hooked me. n~ :! #^
