OK all you not so youngish (tongue in cheek) combateers...............

I am building a count clipper (yes, I got the pan and everything I need) and
need a recommendation for power................

I have the following motors: Fox 36X
Fox 35X BB

both can be run on suction or case pressure.

p.s. I do notplan on competing with the plane, just want it for fun flying once in a while as it was the very 1st plane I
ever saw flying when I was a little boy in So. Cal. back in 58-59ish.

Well....
You did ask.... 'ANY ONE?'....

My vote would be the 36X.
The 35 may be more difficult to obtain parts for and another forum member more knowledgeable than I,
mentioned that several 'models' of the early combat versions having weak cranks.
Be sure to include some pictures!

I actually have just given an old Count Clipper to a friend who does fly Combat and perhaps he will have it with him at the vintage combat meet.
They don't do much more than fly straight and level well.

I have plans for The Count Clipper and a pan, too. I have built several Rodents and rehabbed a Raider in the past. The plans show a K&B Greenhead. If I ever built a Clipper, I would use a Greenhead on suction.

Based on the small thin wing and the weight of the pan, I predict that this plane will be a terrible flyer. If you build a Clipper, select a reliable engine and the lightest one you have.

A Count Clipper flying would be an impressive novelty.

My brother built the Count Clipper when it first appeared. Put a Johnson CS on it with crank case pressure. Did big open maneuvers and he had a lot of fun with it. He never flew in a combat match or contest. He was my helper and motivator.
