Title: MONGOOSE
Post by: LARRY RICE on August 07, 2010, 10:19:26 AM
Here are the parts laid out over the plans.  You will note the added canopy, that is for those flyer's who use the "must have canopy" rule in their slow combat.  This kit will be available late next week at authorized Black Hawk Models dealers with a SRP of $50.00 - Introductory price. The kit also includes a 4 page instruction book, Sig hardware and everything else that you might expect except wing covering material.

Larry,
Great to see a kit coming out. Back in the day I flew the mongoose design in slow combat and even have a few fuselages still around.

I remember flying against the Mongoose with my Apocalypse and while I profered my plane, I was highly impressed by the performance of the Mongoose.  Short of the time when I was learning to fly, flying Slow Combat was the most fun I had in this hobby.

I had two that were used for demo's my club gave. One was white with red/blue sunburst trim, the other black and red. Unfortunately no pictures exist, that 30 years ago

I built one for a friend from an original kit a few years ago, and another friend brought one over for me to repair.  I might just throw a os 25 in it and go fly it! ;D

Your kit looks great, Larry.  Very nice build, too! y1

It is great that I have stirred people into getting out their old Mongoose's out and flying them, just remember when people ask ... they can buy a new kit at Black Hawk Models Authorized Dealers.

I can remember when the Mongoose was the plane of choice until a gentleman in Springfield MO designed the Snake to compete against it.  I have plalns somewhere in the shop in one of a dozen boxes of plans on the floor I haven't looked at lately.  If I get around to it I will remember Blackhawk Models.
