We are going to be using Fora and Profi .8cc motors on Litehawk type airplanes. What is the line length for contest combat? Thanks Mike

Page CLB-8 of AMA Combat Rules: Low performance 34' 9" - 35' 3" Event 330 41' 9" - 42' 3". Diameter is .012 multi strand lines.

Mike, where are you located? I'm also curious as to whether you've flown this setup. I fly them with VA's and Norvel's. I built the model per plan and the reason I asked if you've flown this is due to the weight of the ball bearing engines. I do have one Litehawk here that would probably handle a Profi/Fora due to the engine being recessed into the leading edge and the tail being slightly longer. The VA being the lightest of the bunch is really what Larry designed the plane for. All in all cool stuff so good luck. Ken

Kenneth, I am in Nashville TN. One of the guys I fly speed limit with used to fly 1/2a in AZ I believe. He sold his 1/2a stuff before moving here. We got to talking and decided to get a couple of Fora's to mess around with. Then last week I found out the Profi's were in and we got two of those. I guess the airplanes are not really Litehawks per say, just similar. My buddy got us some cores from Steve Stewart (spelling?) that we are going to try. I cant tell you exactly what they are but they are longer than Hacker cores. Anyway we are really just tryin stuff out right now and gathering info from people who can help. Thanks for the reply, any other suggestions would be welcome. Mike P.S. I have flown CL for a long time but just got into Speed Limit last spring, so building combat stuff is pretty new to me.

42 feet is the standard now. The once-traditional 35 feet is only used is for a low performance reed valve event.

Considering the speed of the current engines the 42 feet needs to be reconsidered, too.
